Safety Australia Group was invited to present to a large Chinese Trade Delegation that hailed from the Henan Province in China.
Henan province has the 5th largest provincial economy in the country and has over 94 million people within their jurisdiction.
The delegation was organised by the Henan Province Workplace Safety and Supervision and Administration Authority and was led by Mr. Ma Tao, the Vice Director General of the Authority. He was joined by four other delegates from different municipalities as well as the provinces workplace Safety Supervision and Law Enforcement Team.
Safety Australia’s Managing Director Robert Keft welcomed the delegation to Australia and opened up discussion around workplace health and safety in Australia. Mr Keft then handed over to workplace health and safety specialist Paul Pascoe who presented details about the legislative framework that governs workplace safety standards in Australia and how it integrates into the state level.
The presentation was well received and a number of questions were fielded throughout. Both parties were assisted by Tracy Ma who did an exemplary job at translating.
After pleasantries were exchanged both Robert Keft and Mr. Ma Tao exchanged gifts (a Chinese custom for such events).
Safety Australia was impressed with the level of commitment to Workplace Safety from Mr Tao and the delegation and will continue to collaborate to benefit all who attended on the day and also the workplaces in their respective jurisdictions.
